How to Stop Telemarketing Calls

You hate telemarketing calls, so do we. We’re dedicated to stopping these calls, forever. Learn how.

You’ve had it with telemarketing calls, we know. Telemarketing is about the most annoying and invasive practice on the planet. This website is dedicated to teaching people how to stop telemarketing calls. While the government has made a feeble attempt to stop these calls, the laws are really designed to allow home owners the ability to take civil action (see “How to Sue a Telemarketer“).

The reality is that most of these calls do not originate from the US and therefore, the laws do not apply. Also, if you own a business, and your phone number is publicly listed, then the laws do not apply to you at all. Telemarketers can call your business as often as they like (see “Google listings scams”).

There are three main “No More Telemarketing Calls” strategies:

1 – Waste their time. Time is money, so if you waste a telemarketer’s time, you can bankrupt the industry. Read more about How to Waste a Telemarketer’s Time.

2 – Sue Them. If the telemarketer is located in the US, and you can get their contact info, and they break any number of guidelines, you can Sue a Telemarketer. If everyone did this, the industry would go away (at least in the US).

3 – Block the Calls. While this really only helps the robo-dialing idiots, it saves you time. There are several Call Blocking Techniques.

We Want To Hear From You.

Did you get called by an annoying telemarketer? Report the phone number on this website and we’ll add your comments to our database. As more people search for that phone number and find our website, they’ll read your comments and, hopefully, not be ripped-off by telemarketing scams.

The Do Not Call List is not working. It does little to protect us from illegal international calls. These international phone calls are from people that are exempt from the laws of the United States – and they know it.

Our objective is to make telemarketing extinct. The only way we can do that is to make it unprofitable. New technologies have killed several industries (think film cameras, yellow pages, incandescent light bulbs…), why can’t we get rid of the most annoying industry in the world?

Learn how to make the international (illegal) telemarketing industry unprofitable by reading our article “How To Stop Telemarketing Calls.”

These people CONTINUE to call , on Sundays and at Night even AFTER I HAVE CALLED THEM AND OPTED TO BE PUT ON THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST. THEY ARE NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS IF THEY CONTINUE TO CALL AFTER BEING ASKED NOT TO! They can stuff their research up their rear end!

Unsure what they are requesting. It's a recording, I didn't give the "required" responses during the recorded pauses so I was t solicited for anything.

The robot call asked for my date of birth and said it was from Alameda County. The call came at night on a holiday. Most likely a phishing scheme to get my personal information.

ROBOCALL from Collector. This is a COLLECTOR (Rash Curtis and Associates). They are bottom feeders and they violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act all the time because they keep robocalling, which is not legal. Calls from MANY different numbers. Don't answer if you don't know the number. Report them to Atty General, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and BBB. Do NOT answer the phone and do NOT give them any information over the phone. Do NOT press any buttons!

Called, remained on my line for 1-2 minutes, then hung up. I unhooked my phone line to ensure clearance. Settings on my computer broadband network sharing were changed to allow sharing. Reset my own changes on the computer, then unhooked line from my modem. Very eerie call, made me feel nervous and interrupted my day.

They ask vital questions, and ask for your debit card number. Give them NOTHING. They're looking to use the number to charge your account. They use the threat of a billing you don't even have to try and get your information. Tell them to fuck off and hang up.
