How to Stop Telemarketing Calls

You hate telemarketing calls, so do we. We’re dedicated to stopping these calls, forever. Learn how.

You’ve had it with telemarketing calls, we know. Telemarketing is about the most annoying and invasive practice on the planet. This website is dedicated to teaching people how to stop telemarketing calls. While the government has made a feeble attempt to stop these calls, the laws are really designed to allow home owners the ability to take civil action (see “How to Sue a Telemarketer“).

The reality is that most of these calls do not originate from the US and therefore, the laws do not apply. Also, if you own a business, and your phone number is publicly listed, then the laws do not apply to you at all. Telemarketers can call your business as often as they like (see “Google listings scams”).

There are three main “No More Telemarketing Calls” strategies:

1 – Waste their time. Time is money, so if you waste a telemarketer’s time, you can bankrupt the industry. Read more about How to Waste a Telemarketer’s Time.

2 – Sue Them. If the telemarketer is located in the US, and you can get their contact info, and they break any number of guidelines, you can Sue a Telemarketer. If everyone did this, the industry would go away (at least in the US).

3 – Block the Calls. While this really only helps the robo-dialing idiots, it saves you time. There are several Call Blocking Techniques.

We Want To Hear From You.

Did you get called by an annoying telemarketer? Report the phone number on this website and we’ll add your comments to our database. As more people search for that phone number and find our website, they’ll read your comments and, hopefully, not be ripped-off by telemarketing scams.

The Do Not Call List is not working. It does little to protect us from illegal international calls. These international phone calls are from people that are exempt from the laws of the United States – and they know it.

Our objective is to make telemarketing extinct. The only way we can do that is to make it unprofitable. New technologies have killed several industries (think film cameras, yellow pages, incandescent light bulbs…), why can’t we get rid of the most annoying industry in the world?

Learn how to make the international (illegal) telemarketing industry unprofitable by reading our article “How To Stop Telemarketing Calls.”

855-274-8960 SCAM. DO NOT ANSWER, If you answer they save your profile as an answering or potential sale number and sell your number to other scammers. Block the shadow number it shows at least because the original source is replaced by the number in the ID. Continue blocking. Or... answer and say wait and leave them waiting for eternity blocking one of their lines.

Another unwanted call from this Anaheim non-existent (spoofed) number arrived today, just 3 days since the last unwanted call on Jan. 18. When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message, just dead space. This is a favorite ploy of robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) who troll the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize. Some posters report the caller is the Fraternal Order of Police, a suspected scam charity. Whether it is a scam charity, a scam solar energy contractor, or a scam vacation giveaway, a scam is a scam is a scam (with apologies to a famous poet, who shall remain unnamed). DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE TELECRIMINALS. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

This one woke me at 05:55. Some guy trying to get me on the old Windows Services scam stating my computers was sending viruses out to other computers. I told him that I wasn't sure what time it was in Bangalore, India but he had gotten me up at six in the morning in Texas. I also told him that his presentation was a very old scam and needed to be done better, if at all. I followed up with my assurance that if he would call me again, with a new and innovative scam, that I would be happy to listen. He said that he would and hung up. Blocked the number.

I have received 5 phone calls from this phone number in a week. I have never answered one. I just called it back, it does not state a business name that you have called or any details. Just leave a message and the customer support team will get back to you. I left an angry message for them to receive tomorrow. They never leave messages on my MessageBank, just hang up. Always at 9:30-10:30am Australian time.

Huge scam. Saying your computer is infected. Claims they are from Microsoft. Called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and put my number on the do not call list. Says it is out of their hands and it's an automated calling system. Asked a couple more times and they said don't worry they will give my number to every robo calling company they can so my phone rings every minute...haha. Looking back, probably should have just blocked their number and moved on. We'll see how it goes in the near future. Good luck.

Multiple calls per day from spoofed Caller ID "California Call" multiple phone numbers, clearly spoofed since if you call them back they are disconnected. Never leave a message. Picked it up in desperation, they ID'd themselves as Mega Remodelling and went into the pitch.
